Orientation: 90/90 Splits

The Seated Glutes Series is a rotational exercise that targets the gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and obliques while promoting core stability and spinal alignment.

This position is often called “90/90 Splits” in functional training and resembles a mermaid sit in barre or Pilates. From here, the back leg lifts while the front leg stays grounded. Variations appear across barre, Pilates, and functional training formats.

Framework Tip

Props like a yoga block or cushion under the front hip or hand can assist with alignment or increase the challenge.
